Purchased by a local lady, Elda Howell, in 1958, this store holds a great keys to our town of Calen. Elda passed away in April 2013 at the age of 83, running her beloved Newsagency for over 50 years. Now still run by the same family, it's as much a Museum as it is a Newsagency.

Having a R.A.C.Q. depot in our area is a life saver. They are our local mechanics and also sell fuel, tyres, batteries and spare parts. Locally owned and run with a great reputation.

This Hairdressers is set inside Zarby's Café and is owned and run by a lovely local lady, Anne-Marie. They are open Wednesday - Friday 9am-5pm and on Saturdays 9am-12noon. Great country welcome and great prices.
Right out the front of our park with new owners in 2018, you can get your basic grocery items here. Fresh bread and milk delivered daily, serving hot food to go or dine in.
Lucky to have these serves, Calen has both a police station and an ambulance station. The police station is open only Monday mornings from 8am - 12 noon.

Through out the year we have many local people that set up a road side stalls on the Bruce Hwy, right opposite the Post office and Butcher. Selling a variety of goods including the famous Ballantynes Strawberries and our local sweets lady from "Delicious & Sweet Bakery" selling sweet treats and gorgeous filled donuts & coffee. Be sure to stop in on your way to our park.
