St. Helens Beach has a tidal boat ramp suitable for all sized tailorable boats to be launched. 13 klms from our park.
Murray Creek has a tidal boat ramp suitable for small to medium sized boats.8 klms from our park.
Seaforth boat ramp is accessible in all tides for all sized boats. 30 klms from our park, with quick access to island fishing.

Our area has been a NET FREE zone since November, 2015. This has increased both our species choice and volume of fish being caught in our estuaries.

Some common species caught in our area include Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Finger-mark, Grunter, Threadfin Salmon, King & Blue Salmon, Flathead, Whiting, Bream and OF COURSE the beautiful MUD CRAB.

CLAENCLASSIC FISHING COMPETION

Our position on this amazing coast line of Queensland allows us to have access to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef for some of the best fishing you'll ever do. St. Helens Beach boat ramp or Seaforth's boat ramp give you the best access to the islands and such species as Coral Trout, Grassy Sweet lip, Stripey, Bluetooth, Nannygai and Cod can be plentiful all year round.

CLAENCLASSIC FISHING COMPETION

Calen Classic runs in October, the last weekend before Barra closure. It's one of the best weekends of fishing, fun and festivities. Both adult and Children ticket available. Run by the local community over the three day weekend, with the main event of prizes, rides, raffles and FIREWORKS on the Saturday night and WINNERS & TROPHIES on Sunday afternoon.

All proceeds go to local schools, Community Senior Tennis, and Calen District Memorial Hall.

St. Helens Beach is one spot to take the family (including the fur baby) for the day, with beach fishing, BBQ's and a playground.

Murray Creek also has nice high banks to fish off or throw a crab pot in, set up a gazebo and your chairs and spend the day relaxing.
